COLOMBIA Finca Pensilvania Laurina – Filter

Description

From the roaster

Laurina, also known as Bourbon Pointu, is a rare natural mutation within Arabica, distinguished by its naturally low caffeine content and unique plant structure. The variety produces smaller seeds and lower yields, making it uncommon in commercial production and more demanding to cultivate. At 1760 meters in La Llanada, Huila, Eduar Sain Muñoz grows Laurina under conditions that support steady cherry development and careful field management. The plants are less vigorous than typical Arabica varieties, requiring more attention throughout the season, but respond clearly to altitude and consistent harvesting. Cherries are selectively picked, processed using a washed method, and dried slowly to preserve the inherent structure of the variety. Laurina is defined by its low bitterness, lighter body, and a more transparent cup profile, where acidity and aromatics appear with clarity rather than weight.
