Among those stations was Chelbesa Danche, located in the Chelbesa Kebele. About 800 producers deliver cherry—primarily Kurume and Wolisho varieties—to this station, where processing is overseen by Frew, the Special Prep Coordinator and Yirgacheffe Operations Manager. They produce a number of different processes at Danche. This particular coffee is a yellow honey lot. JARC developed these varieties in response to a devastating wave of Coffee Berry Disease (CBD) in the 1960s.
