Medium-Light Roast
Slightly past first crack. A balanced cup that keeps origin character with a touch more body.
Medium-light roasts push a bit further past first crack, developing some sweetness and body without losing the bright origin character. The bean is light brown, surface still dry.
The cup is balanced — bright and sweet: enough development to round out the acidity and add caramel or brown sugar notes, but still articulate enough to taste the origin.
This is the sweet spot for many specialty roasters who want to showcase origin without scaring off drinkers who find pure light roasts too acidic.
