Atote

Description
From the roasterVariety: 74158 Process: Natural Alo1E. 4Lote. A “lol” e. We looked at the tag more than one hundred times. We couldn’t decipher the handwriting. Our handwriting has been known to be rather suspect, but we were truly at a loss after cupping in the Alo lab in Addis. It was an Alo Spelling Bee. We reached out to other buyers who had attended the lab. No one knew what lot we were talking about. We thought the peachy, strawberry, and tropical combo was lost forever until we saw the name on a list…Atote. Everything became connected at once. Some naturally processed coffees hit you with chaotic fruity dimensions. While we aren’t against such coffees, we find it truly special when a naturally-processed lot can simultaneously display clarity, intensity, and refinement. There’s a harmony between the cup components that balances your consciousness as you take sips. You don’t go searching for fruit descriptors, because the fruits find you. Atote (one of Tamiru Tadessa’s highest sites) is one of those coffees. Whenever we travel on our green bean adventures, we always travel with multiple 28-stick packs of Trident Tropical gum. We like sharing it, and two sticks often give us an energy boost on long rides or big hikes. We find it appropriate that this coffee has the same tropical blast we experience when we take our first chews. In addition to a medley of tropical fruits, we also find fresh strawberries and an electric limey acidity. We’re glad we finally found the correct spelling of Atote so we could feature it in the BOTZ roast style. We promise, too, to make the roast date highly legible on the back of these bags. ***Please note - fulfillment will take place from [10/21-10/26].
